St.Anthony air cadets compete in drill event after six-year absence

ST.ANTHONY,N.L.—

For the first time in six years, the 774 St.Anthony Air Cadet Squadron competed in a provincial Drill Team event.

At the White Hills Academy gymnasium in St.安东尼3月27日the drill team delivered their performance before judges Captain Chris Wooton and Captain Jon MacDonald.

Wooton and MacDonald both travelled to St.Anthony to judge as the squad was unable to travel to Corner 金宝搏手机app下载Brook for the western zone competition earlier in the month.

It was the first time any of the current air cadets have participated in the competition.Beverly Scott, commanding officer for the 774 squadron felt it would have been ideal to have the cadets perform in Corner 金宝搏手机app下载Brook to take in other performances and learn from the other squads.

However, she was grateful they were able to participate at all.She hopes they can  use the experience to prepare for next year's competition.

The drill team's results will be revealed at a later date.

The winning team from the western zone will move onto the provincials in St.John's in April.

Despite the hiatus from the contest, the St.Anthony squad once had a long string of success in the Provincial Drill Team Competition, winning the competition 10 years in a row in the 1990s and early 2000s.
